Music is something essential and necessary in my life, It’s something I can hardly live without. It gives me satisfaction, brings me delight: I feel the need to express through music what I cannot express with words. Music is something makes me feel focused, relieved, and provides me with meaning. I use it like a tool of personal and professional growth and it always accompanies me in my life journey and constant evolution.
I use to make dj sets for the simple purpose of enjoying and having fun, or just for dancing. I also use them to express myself and my states of mind, emotions and feelings (music helps me directing them toward the way I need and puts them in order). I also make dj set to sum up a season or to bring to the present time some memories.
I love to build dj sets making use of story-telling. This way I can express a situation that has happened to me, a story I can imagine, something I heard, or a special film or book I read. I feel the need to express myself through music.
I love to dance dj’s with all sort of sets: Spotify playlist, or random playlist. There are sets that simply make you dance and that’s great. Nevertheless, my favorites sets are those that transport you to a unique one-off experience, those revolving around story-telling creations. I don’t really mind what kind of stories, they could be happy ending stories, erotic stories, intense, blue… I need to feel some coherence on the story, though, or to perceive that something interesting is being said with a structure: introduction, conflict, climax and denouement. I like complex sets, not only tracks being played randomly, even if there is some method being used. I always investigate in order to know what it’s hidden behind the music of my favorites dj’s.
I always wonder: why did they compose it that way? Why have they structured it the way it is and not in a different way? Why the technical performance? Why have they chosen to play one specific song after another? Why didn’t they chose another song?
I am always curious about these things, and sometimes I get obsessed about what is behind the music. And this is what I want to do just now with Noche Oscura del Alma, which is very special for me.
This is a set with which I celebrate and close an important phase of my life and I’d love to tell you why the session is the way it is and why it could not be otherwise. The session is the
way it is because I want to express concrete emotions. I want to tell you a story about a very particular experience. Of course I want you to feel free to make your own interpretation and experience the set the way you honestly receive it. I love to have feedback about my work and like to know how people feel listening to my music: maybe their feelings are completely different from mines, and that would be also great.
